Welcome to the baby loss diaries. I created this platform following my own experience of baby loss in January 2026. In November 2025 I found out I was pregnant with my first baby, and during our first NHS scan there were signs of abnormality. We felt completely blind sighted and lost.
Following further scans/investigations it was found that my baby had a life threatening genetic condition. Through our own research and discussion with the consultant/midwives, my partner and I made the very difficult decision to not continue with the pregnancy. A decision we did not take lightly. During this time as one does, I was frantically researching for other families stories, trying to get an insight into others experiences, and get a glimpse of the process I was about to undergo. Through my research I found there weren’t a lot of stories out there, and not many real lived experiences from families who have been through baby loss.
I hope this page inspires families to share their stories; and I hope it gives comfort to those who might be going through or who have gone through a difficult time like this themselves.
